Hi everyone! I can’t believe that summer has come and gone so quickly, but that is so often the case. As I get ready to embark on my 8th year in education (I can’t believe that!), I find myself doing lots of “back to school” shopping. For me, that includes items for my classroom and the daily necessities, but also the fun goodies like new clothes and pretty stationary. I wanted to share with you all some of my finds, and the best places to truly get your money’s worth.
Like many of you I LOVE Target. And you won’t believe that I didn’t discover the “Dollar Bin” until this June. Yes, I know. I’ve really been missing out. My mom and I were on our way to visit my grandparents, and we stopped at a Target on the way.
Oh. My. Goodness.
My mom had to literally pry me away and tell me to go wait in the car while she paid.
These are some of my *fun* summer finds at Target:
Every year I must have a planner. This helps me stay organized and make sure that I don’t miss an important meeting or appointment. I do keep an electronic calendar through my e-mail, but for me having a tangible, old school, pen and paper planner works best. I have tried and stumbled, loved, and became frustrated with many planners. It is important to find the one that works best for YOU. When looking for a planner take the time to choose one that will meet your needs. Do you want space to outline your day hour by hour, or will a small block for each day be sufficient?
I really like the planners at Target because they offer a variety, they are reasonably priced, and they are super cute. Here is a link to the planner that I’ll be using this fall and spring.
I also like to keep a box of “anytime cards” in my desk. At the beginning of each semester I’ll find cute “just because” “thank you” and “hello” type cards and write small sentiments to coworkers or students when they need a pick me up. It is a really small gesture, but it can truly turn someone’s day around or just be a quick reminder that they are appreciated. Also, you get a pack of 50 blank cards, with envelopes, for $14.99. Here’s a link to the cute cards I purchased.
Even though summer officially comes to an end next month, the summer heat basically lasts year round in Texas. Some of my favorite bikinis have come from Target. But it was not without trial and error. Some of their bottoms don’t fit me great, and I am a bit picky about the tops. But I’m going to link some of my favorite bikini styles because they are all on sale!
This top is extremely flattering and comes in several colors and prints.
This top doesn’t offer the most coverage if needed, but it is very fun and flirty. Perfect for a day of lounging around the pool with girlfriends.
I hope that you found some of these Target finds to be useful!
Also, make sure you are on the e-mail lists for the factory stores below, because they have some really good deals…often!
To all my fellow educators and students returning to school this fall, I wish you all a wonderful year. Remember, as with anything, there will be difficulties and challenges but none that you can’t handle.
And for everyone that is getting through August, hustling, keep it up! We are all #amazing!
